TRUPCR® MRSA Real-Time PCR Detection kit is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of Staphylococcus aureus and its Methicillin-Resistant status from various sources of clinical samples using Real time PCR system. The MRSA detection consists in amplification of two specific loci (the nuc gene which is specific for Staphylococcus aureus , and the resistance gene mecA) and in measurement of fluorescence increase. In this kit there are three independent reactions running in parallel in each tube: the first detects Staphylococcus aureus (FAM channel), the second detects Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (HEX channel), and the third detects internal control (IC) DNA (Tex Red channel) which allows excluding unreliable results.
